[8] 8 - Possession of an Illegal Weapon

Possession of a Class 1, 2, 3, or 4 weapon, weapon accessory, or device.

Additionally, all firearms require serial numbers to be associated and registered with the NCIC/CAD. Altering, removing, or possessing a firearm without an associated serial number is an offense under this code.

Class 1

• Silencers

• Suppressors

• Bump Stocks

Class 2

• Automatic weapons

• Machine guns

• Short-barreled shotgun

• Short-barreled rifle

Exception: Class 2 weapons may be possessed/owned by a licensed gun store. Class 2 weapons may not be sold. If the gun store has a certified gun range, the weapon may be fired.

Class 3

• Explosive devices

• IEDs

• Grenades

• Pipe bombs

Class 4

• Incendiary Ammunition

• Explosive Ammunition

• Armor Piercing Ammunition

Violation of this is a Felony Sentence: 600 Month(s) Additional Sentences 10 Minutes Per Class 1 Item 20 Minutes Per Class 2 Item 30 Minutes Per Class 3 Item 1 Minutes Per Class 4 Item Fine: $1000

The following groups are exempt from Class 1 (Silencers, Bump Stocks, Suppressors), Class 2 (Automatic weapons, Machine guns, Short-barreled shotgun, Short-barreled rifle), Class 3 (Explosive devices, IEDs, Grenades, Pipe Bombs) and Class 4 (Armor Piercing Ammunition, Incendiary Ammunition, Explosive Ammunition).
